Saamah Abdallah

Saamah AbdallahSaamah Abdallah is a researcher at nef’s centre for well-being. He is the lead author of The Happy Planet Index 2.0, nef’s analysis of the world’s nations in terms of life expectancy, life satisfaction and ecological footprint. He has spoken widely on the topic, appearing on national and international television and radio.

Saamah has also been involved in exploring other measures of national progress, working on nef’s National Accounts of Well-being and on Regional Indices of Sustainable Economic Welfare. He is particularly interested in how the science of well-being can inform research into pro-environmental behaviour and value change.

Saamah has also worked on the development of tools and analysis of data measuring subjective well-being, including projects for the BIG Lottery Fund, Caerphilly Local Authority, Encams and Dumfries and Galloway NHS.
