Roman Krznaric
Roman Krznaric is a a writer and teacher on creative thinking about the art of living and social change. He is a faculty member of The School of Life, a new cultural enterprise based in central London that offers instruction and inspiration on the art of living, where he teaches Work and Politics, and is the resident expert on Empathy.
For several years Roman was Project Director at The Oxford Muse, the foundation established by the avant-garde thinker and historian Theodore Zeldin to stimulate courage and invention in personal, professional and cultural life. He has taught sociology and politics at Cambridge University and City University, London, and has done human rights work in Central America with refugees and indigenous people.
Roman also works as a consultant to organisations such as Oxfam and the United Nations on empathy development and social change. He is the author of a book on the medieval sport of real tennis – The First Beautiful Game – and of the Oxfam report How Change Happens. His new book, Empathy, will be published by Acumen later this year as part of their Art of Living series.
