Mark Vernon
Mark Vernon is a philosopher, journalist and author. He is the author of The Philosophy of Friendship (2006), After Atheism: Science, Religion and the Meaning of Life (2007), What Not To Say: Philosophy for Life’s Difficult Moments (2007), 42: Deep Thought on Life, the Universe, and Everything (2008) and Teach Yourself Humanism (2008). He also edits the Art of Living series for Acumen, and wrote its volume on Wellbeing (2008). His latest titles are Plato’s Podcasts: The Ancients’ Guide to Modern Living (2009) and the Chambers Dictionary of Beliefs and Religions (2009).
Mark has degrees in Physics, Philosophy and Theology and used to be a priest in the Church of England. He is now an Honourary Research Fellow at Birkbeck College, University of London, and a faculty member at the School of Life. He blogs at Philosophy and Life.
