Joe Smith
Joe Smith is senior lecturer on the environment in the Department of Geography at the Open University. His research has focused on further the understanding of and action on global environmental issues, including climate change, food policy and consumption. He helped initiate the Interdependence Day project, which aims to provoke new thinking about how we should act in an interconnected world. Joe has also been involved in research projects concerning the links between the arts, media and environmental change and was a member of the 2008 Cape Farewell expedition to Disko Bay, Greenland. Joe is the author of What do Greens Believe? (2006) and The Daily Globe (2000). He is also the co-author, with Stephen Peak, of Climate Change: From science to sustainability (2003) and the co-editor, with Andrew Simms, of Do Good Lives Have to Cost the Earth? (2008).
